Keeping the tradition of secondhand bookselling alive on Charing Cross Rd.

Buy from our online catalogue

Can’t make it into our bookshop? Looking for that hard to find or obscure book? Our entire internet stock of over 17,000 books is completely searchable on Biblio and Abebooks. We add new books online every week, almost daily. The books we have online tend to be those that are harder to find, rare, more niche, collectable items.

Please note that our online stock is mostly separate from the books we have in the bookshop, due to reasons of space, so if you’ve seen one of our books online, and would like to view it in the bookshop, please contact us and we will happily bring it into the bookshop for you to see in person.

There is always a changing selection of books that are listed online that are also available to browse in person in the bookshop.

Buy with confidence online from a reputable ‘bricks and mortar’ bookshop, we are long standing members of the ABA and PBFA and ILAB, and we have an excellent reputation for our communication and honesty and for the care with which we pack books for postage.

(Members of these associations are committed to maintaining the highest standards. They vouch for the authenticity of all items offered for sale. They provide expert and detailed descriptions, disclose all significant defects and / or restorations, provide clear and accurate pricing, and operate with fairness and honesty during the purchase experience.)

Strong and sustainable packaging

We pack all books very carefuly, using bubble wrap and strong specialist cardboard book mailing boxes for all books. We minimise the use of plastic in our packing, using recycled paper bubble wrap and strong purpose made book postal wraps.

"Both books arrived safely thanks to your expert work. As these books are both very heavy, they could have easily been damaged in shipping. I have never received any books that were so carefully wrapped and boxed.”

John, customer in USA

"Hello, I just received a book from you …I just wanted to say I wish every bookseller took lessons from you in how to package a book. There's nothing bulky about your package, there's no excess padding, yet the book is so carefully wrapped I imagine you never get a complaint about the slightest bump. I couldn't be more pleased.

Robert, customer in USA
